Synopsis: In the small and seemingly close-knit Midwestern town of Samson after the second world war. Calvin Van Glahn is a man shattered by his families turbulent history who will forever stand in the shadows of his past family fortune. Unbeknownst to Cal and the entire town, fate has been ushered in by an unsuspecting courier: Jackson Goldman, a man one step ahead of his own past and the law. Jack is off seeking his next “sure thing” when he is left stranded outside of Samson at the onset of a terrible yet beautiful electrical storm that pervades the town with it’s energy and wild force. Jackson worms his way into the heart , mind and home of Calvin. Seven days of judgment begin as the towns pleasant façade crumbles, ripped away by the growing intensity of the storm and the supernatural forces unleashed. Calvins strengths begin to work against him as he becomes an unwilling portal to the phenomenon and begins to learn more than he wanted to know about his neighbors and friends.  Calvin’s sudden and vivid recollections of his own troubled past and his inability to deal with the terrible truths and personal horrors become to much to bear as the dark secrets of those around him proves to be the catalyst fate needed to dispense justice in a terrifying fashion.

The Painted Room is an un-flinching yet beautiful portrait of the human condition and generational sin. Painted with stark and hopeful characters who confronted with turbulent pasts and uncertain futures rage against the backdrop of Americas turbulent 50 year introduction to the twentieth century.
